摘要
Population aging is a global phenomenon, leading not only to a rising prevalence of cardiovascular disease, but also to greater rates of multimorbidity and geriatric syndromes such as dementia, frailty, and functional decline.1 Up to 80% of persons aged 65 years and over, and living with cardiovascular disease, have at least one concurrent geriatric condition, rendering them vulnerable to adverse outcomes from cardiovascular therapy and hospitalization.1 These demographic shifts, in conjunction with the proliferation of novel diagnostic modalities, pharmaceuticals, and minimally invasive therapeutic options, present significant challenges to clinicians as they strive to provide optimal person-centered care to older patients.
