Performance Analysis of UAV Communication System in the Vicinity of Multiple Interferers

There is an increasing interest in the research arena for analyzing the performance of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). However, main objective during the design is to include all the important parameters in the study. The present research work analyzes the ground-to-UAV uplink communication system in the vicinity of multiple interfering UAVs. To make the system more accurate, 3-D coordinate representation of all the UAVs has been considered. Also, small-scale fading has been modeled using the square Gamma random variates. We derive an expression for the probability density function (PDF) for the sum of squared and scaled Gamma random variables. Using the derived expression, a closed-form expression of the outage probability has been presented. The derived results are accurate and have been simulated to study the impact of neighboring interfering UAV on the system.
