Interpretation of Chinese Expert Consensus on the Whole-Course Management of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (2023 Edition)

BACKGROUND ON THE CONSENSUS Primary liver cancer is a prevalent malignant neoplasm globally, with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) representing 75％ to 85％ of cases. In 2020, China accounted for nearly half of the global new cases and deaths of liver cancer[1]. Consequently, enhancing the prognosis of the overall HCC population has emerged as a pressing public health concern in China, demanding urgent attention and resolution.
