Vaccine Induced Uveitis
ACTA OPHTHALMOLOGICA(2024)
摘要
Recently, the COVID epidemic and its associated vaccination campaign have brought back the notion that uveitis could be induced by vaccination. Vaccine‐induced uveitis was, however, described as early as 1987. Although the reported incidence is rare, uveitis has been described with all type of vaccine. Direct infection, molecular mimicry and adjuvant effects are the three mechanisms that can lead to vaccine induced uveitis. Clinically all forms of uveitis have been described, with generally a good prognosis. Importantly, in the case of COVID vaccination, the risk of developing uveitis might be higher in patients with previous episode of non infectious uveitis.
