Dual-Frequency Metamaterial-Antenna for a Through-Facade Coupler to Enhance 5G Indoor Communication

摘要
In this paper, antennnas for the coupler for 5G frequency bands in order to improve the 5G signals in indoor areas is presented. The 5G coupler consists of one outside antenna that connected to an indoor antenna to increase 5G indoor coverage. The anntenna is designed based on half wave resonator approach with capacitve gaps and the systematic method is extendable to other 5G frequency bands. In this work, metamaterial (MTM) antenna with interdigital structure, as capacitive loads is considered. The proposed antenna is composed of several unit cells and it can be tailored to implement on the modern window frame. By increasing the number of unit cells, desired antenna gain can be achieved.
