Effects of Cognitive Load on Human Cognitive Reliability

Human error is the main factor that causes aviation accidents. So far, the human factor has remained the main contributor to flight accidents. As the first generation of HRA(Human Reliability Analysis) methods, HCR(Human Cognitive Reliability) model has been verified in multiple industries. The level of cognitive load of a pilot directly affects his flight performance. However, the current three correction factors of the HCR model are not sufficient for a comprehensive assessment of the failure probability of pilot operations. Therefore, cognitive load is introduced as the fourth correction factor of the HCR model in this paper. The HCR model is modified by experimental measurement parameters, and the accuracy of the modified model was proved by verification experiments.
