Workplace violence in social education: a systematic review

There are work contexts where violence towards professionals is perpetrated by users. The professional environments of social education are highly complex scenarios, where professionals intervene with people and groups in a highly vulnerable situation, an element that entails a high risk of workplace violence. The aim of this research was to analyse the phenomenon of type II workplace violence among social education professionals in Spain. For this purpose, a systematic review of the scientific literature was carried out in the databases Web of Science, Scopus, InDICE CSIC, APA PycNet and Dialnet plus. The results show that type II workplace violence towards social education professionals is a reality and that it is mainly the user who carries out the violent action. In conclusion, knowing the risk factors and the characteristics of the user in more detail, will help to improve the study of workplace violence in the field of social education.
