A good alternative to cyanacrylate, especially in cases of orifices or large tracts in which complications may appear, are the prostheses, which are also easier to handle in clinical practice. Sometimes cancer patients have upper gastrointestinal complications no subsidiary to surgical treatment, like a tumor fistula, that contraindicate chemotherapy. In situations like this, endoscopic intervention can be a potentially profitable alternative that impacts the patient's prognosis.
