Decision-making method of transient stability control for power system considering the uncertainty of wind power.

A decision-making method for power system transient stability control was proposed considering the uncertainties of wind generation and load. Firstly, the transient stability margin is defined taking the salient pole synchronous generator model into consideration. The Gaussian mixture model (GMM) was used to describe the uncertainties of wind power and load. The probabilistic transient stability of rotor angle was analyzed. Then the security and economics coordinated transient stability control strategy optimization problem was modeled. The control cost is taken as the objective function and constraints of the maximum load shedding ratio and the confidence level of transient stability were considered. The sensitivity-based method was used to overcome the shortcomings of the existed methods that the computation burdens are too heavy to apply in practice. The nonlinear dynamical optimization problem including uncertainty variables was transformed to a linear programming problem. It was solved iteratively until a convergence was reached. Finally, the proposed decision-making method was applied in the modified IEEE 10-generator 39-bus system to validate its effectiveness.
