•There were few publications on engine test result for blended biofuel synthesized from waste raw materials.•Use of waste materials will reduce environmental menace.•The catalysts from bio wastes is biodegradable unlike conventional catalysts.•Reduction of EGT for 20 % blend will enhancing the safety of the IC engine.•Reduced BSFC reduced fuel consumption and makes the engine fuel efficient.•The bio wastes catalyst can be reused with over 80% potency.
