摘要
Numerous different capture technologies are market-ready, and many technology providers are already competing to provide the most efficient technology to customers looking to reduce their CO2 emissions. Capture technologies in various forms have already been deployed for almost a century; amine technology, for example, was first patented in the 1930s with the purpose of separating CO2 from natural gas sources. Today the market is a mix of proprietary technologies, but also a few open technologies are available. In this chapter, both are discussed. The higher TRL technologies are covered first, with postcombustion capture and oxyfuel capture technologies discussed in detail, highlighting the key lessons learnt through their deployment on first-of-a-kind CCS projects. Then capture technologies, which are yet to reach widespread deployment, are also discussed at the end of the chapter, such as precombustion technologies and direct air capture, which are becoming increasingly important.
