The Performance Assessment of TiO2/ITO-PET TENG Device

Abstract
Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs), which utilize the triboelectric phenomenon to collect electrical energy from mechanical vibrations, are currently being investigated. In this paper, we report the preparation of TiO2 thin film and the fabrication of a TiO2-ITO/PET tribo-based nanogenerator. It has been discovered that when a TiO2 thin film is heat-treated at high temperatures, the triboelectric property is significantly improved. When compared to other semiconductor-based nanogenerators, the TiO2-ITO/PET-based TENG produces an instantaneous maximum output power of around 20 W/m2. The enhancement was accomplished without the use of any sublayer or electrical poling and just by depositing TiO2 thin films on the Si (100) substrate. As a result, the present work will provide a novel technique to improve both the surface characteristics and the triboelectric effect of a surface.
