A synchronization/desynchronization module for droplet-based microfluidics

Abstract We propose a passive system that can be used to synchronize and desynchronize droplets in parallel microfluidic channels. The proposed system employs a droplet trap and release technique and a valve is also supplied to desynchronize the droplets. The proposed system is not sensitive to the exact time for entering the droplets into the system. The operation of the system was numerically checked.
