Nanofluid's convective heat transfer for laminar, transitional, and turbulent flow

This chapter summarizes some important experimental results on the convective heat transfer characteristics of different nanofluids, along with three main flow regimes (i.e., laminar, transitional, and turbulent flow), and also reports some research investigations and findings on the effect and influence of the use of inserts (twisted tape, longitudinal strip, helical screw inserts, wire coil inserts, etc.) with nanofluids on heat transfer performances and characteristics. From the experimental results provided here, it was noticed that the use of both nanofluid and inserts improves the heat transfer performance of the heat exchangers, though there is a significant increase in the friction factor.
