The development of an expert panel support program using the Python programming language

Approximately 40,000 patients with malignant solid tumors underwent comprehensive genomic profile (CGP) testing, which was covered by insurance in 2019. The results of CGP testing are investigated at the Center for Cancer Genomics and Advanced Therapeutics (C-CAT) for detected variants and candidate therapeutic agents, with patient consent. The C-CAT reports are then provided to the expert panel conducted at the (core) cancer genome medical center, which prepares to return them to the patient for recommended treatment and secondary (germline) findings, along with its own re-evaluation of the variants and therapeutics. However, since numerous public databases that should be referenced for annotation of variants are exist, the work of Expert Panel is time and labor intensive. Herein, we have developed an expert panel support program using the Python programming language to reduce the burden of expert panel preparation.
