Abstract
The research results are presented of sorption extraction of cesium from alkaline high-level waste solutions stored in Mayak tanks using the resorcinol-formaldehyde resin RFS-i and modified nickel ferrocyanide-based inorganic sorbent Fersal. It is shown that the overall sorption performance of the Fersal exceeds that of the RFS-i. However, unlike the Fersal, the RFS-i remains stable during repeated cycles. A preliminary conclusion has been drawn on the prospects of use of both sorption materials for decontamination of Mayak real alkaline HLW.
