Abstract
In the present-day scenario, there is a huge demand for electric power both in commercial and also in domestic utility, this drives for more energy alternatives for meeting the demand. To meet this demand and provide reliability in the power supply there is a need of renewable sources. These sources when connected to the grid provide the reliability for the power demanded. Solar photovoltaic (PV) and permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based wind power are eminent these days. As known the power from these sources is not always uniform therefore, it is required to have an energy storage device, a battery is used for the purpose of energy storage in this case here. To have an uninterrupted supply from these renewable sources there are power electronic controllers designed, these can control the unexpected changes that occur and contribute for a uniform power supply. These power electronic converters are introduced both for AC and DC side of the prescribed system of power transmission. The converters are employed with the Takagi Sugeno-Fuzzy (TS-Fuzzy), and Mamdani Fuzzy along with PI (Proportional Integral), this study reports a comparative analysis of these techniques, minimizing losses and achieving the required output, and the superiority characteristics of the methods mentioned are also discussed. Compensation in the reactive power in the system, harmonic reduction, balancing grid voltages, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for the renewables uses and DSTATCOM operations are major responsibilities of the controllers proposed here.
