摘要
Recently, we read with interest the article titled “Incremental prognostic value of SPECT over CCTA” written by Awad Javaid and his colleagues in the International Journal of Cardiology [ [1] Javaid A. Ahmed A.I. Han Y. Al Rifai M. Saad J.M. Alfawara M.S. Alahdab F. El Nihum L. Jimenez Y. Newstorm E. Al-Mallah M.H. Incremental prognostic value of spect over CCTA. Int. J. Cardiol. 2022 Jul 1; 358 (Epub 2022 Apr 15. PMID: 35436561): 120-127https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijcard.2022.04.025 Abstract Full Text Full Text PDF PubMed Scopus (5) Google Scholar ]. In Awad Javaid et al.'s study, they elucidated that combined-results from Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) and coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA) had an incremental prognostic effect on prognostic evaluation of patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) over CCTA anatomic results alone, which allowed binding the anatomical data (coronary angiogram) with functional data (resting and stress perfusion or metabolism), thus increasing the diagnostic and prognostic value of noninvasive imaging.
