Riscos Ocupacionais e seus Agravos aos Profissionais de Enfermagem: Revisão Integrativa da Literatura

This study aimed to elucidate the main occupational risks and their health problems, describe prevention and control measures for occupational hazards in the hospital environment and discuss the health problems related to nursing workers. This is a descriptive integrative review study, which was searched from February to December 2020, based on the Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases: LILACS, SCIELO and BDENF. The final sample consisted of 22 articles, being refined from an exhaustive reading. We conclude that the main risks to which nursing professionals are exposed in the hospital environment are: ergonomic, chemical, physical, psychosocial and biological. Of these, they emphasize biological risks, such as contact with blood and other body fluids, followed by ergonomic and psychosocial risks that are sometimes evidenced as a consequence of work overload and mental exhaustion.
