Hydroxyapatite has been widely used in the biomedical industry due to its biocompatibility, bioactivity, and stable properties. A novel approach to handling its particles with a high surface area quality is urgently required. Therefore, this study aims to determine an empirical model of the surface area of precipitation-derived hydroxyapatite particles prepared with latex as a pore-forming agent. The results showed that the porous hydroxyapatite's surface area increased along with the pH, latex volume, and latex drop rate. The empirical model obtained to control the surface area of porous hydroxyapatite particles of porogen latex is y = 15.961A + 217.418B - 161.16C - 20.407AB + 13.193AC + 22.27BC - 122.47 with R2 = 99.99 %.
