Design of fuel supply system for LNG powered VLCC

By selecting the LNG powered VLCC ship as the model whose route is from Middle East to China,this article points out the reasons of choosing VLCC as mother ship,the optimal LNG filling scheme,the fuel consumption calculation method of low speed,the 3D tank layout,type selection,structure design and calculation. Then the fuel supply system of the ship is optimized,including the treatments of BOG and the control principles of the PBU,and the protection measures of the built- in pipeline,gas chamber ventilation measures and filling station to prevent the accidents caused by LNG leakage. Therefore,this research has the very good guiding significance for the larger LNG powered ship development and design in future.
