Prototype for Digitization of Fetal Monitoring, Integrable with Electronic Medical Records

Fetal monitoring is performed to check the fetus’ well-being. In the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires these studies are currently registered in thermal paper, which for various reasons is discarded once the monitoring is finished. Only the professional's evaluation of the study is registered in the electronic medical record. An application which identifies the patient, communicates with the fetal monitor and creates a graph with the received data was developed, so a digital record of the whole study can be obtained and added to the electronic medical records, thus eliminating the need for thermal paper.
