Magnetically Triggered Imaging System for Automated Validation of Magnetic Flow Cytometry Observations
2023 IEEE SENSORS(2023)
摘要
This paper presents a novel approach for event validation in MFC that clearly differentiates between signals from agglomerated magnetic particles and individual entities. It incorporates an optical system with a microscope and a magnetically triggered 860-fps camera, reducing data production by three orders of magnitude. Meticulous calibration and synchronization enable the simultaneous acquisition of magnetic and optical data for effective discrimination. Motion blur is addressed using a rapid (0.03 ms) light pulse, allowing detection of particles travelling at speeds up to 1.6 m/s through a $100\ \mu\mathrm{m}$ observation window, an approximately 80-fold improvement over the camera's standalone performance. This method shows promise for advancing MFC accuracy in biomedical applications, providing labeled data for supervised and unsupervised learning.
