摘要
In recent years climate change has been strongly impacting our lives. Taking care of our land is becoming a challenge. Public administration, decision-makers, businesses and citizens should work together to fight against these environmental changes. One of the domains to be addressed to make the territories more sustainable and resilient is the management of green areas. In this context, the analysis of the open geospatial data is becoming crucial to plan the right changes in the cities to improve the citizens' quality of life and impact significantly on the environment. This paper aims to demonstrate how the combination of geospatial data and general open data can provide relevant information in managing already existing green areas and planning new ones. This work results from SPOTTED, a project funded by the European Commission to provide innovative cloud-based solutions to support decision-makers in urban green area management.
