Achieving EMC in Spacecraft with Stringent EMC requirements

Usually spacecraft subsystems are qualified for EMI-EMC based on MIL-STD or test requirements specific to particular organization. Based on the functional requirements of payloads or other subsystems, limits for conducted and radiated EMC tests have to be derived and subsystems should be tested as per those limits and appropriate mitigation have to be followed to achieve EMC. This paper presents three such spacecraft examples and the methods used to achieve EMC.
