Comprehensive working condition evaluation of the sintering process based on polymorphic indicators

Real-time accurate evaluation of the working conditions is crucial for ensuring the process safety and production efficiency in the sintering process. However, existing sintering condition evaluation methods are limited by their singular and incomplete condition characterization, thus restricting their ability to provide a comprehensive and macroscopic depiction of the sintering state. To alleviate these limitations, a comprehensive evaluation method based on polymorphic indicators is proposed in this study. First, a novel concept of polymorphic indicators is designed based on infrared images and process data to promote multidimensional and multi-state evaluation of the sintering process conditions. Second, a multidimensional characterization method of the sintering working condition based on the polymorphic indicators is proposed. Specifically, the polymorphic indicators are com-bined with the radar chart to define and calculate the sintering condition performance index and equilibrium index. These indexes are determined based on the area and perimeter enclosed by eigenvalues, providing a comprehensive and realistic evaluation of working conditions. Finally, the proposed method is verified based on actual industrial data derived from the sintering process. The experimental results demonstrate its ability to accurately quantify the actual working conditions, which is of great significance for stabilizing production and improving the quality of the sinter.
