Increasing embedding capacity of stego images by exploiting edge pixels in prediction error space

摘要
•An image steganography approach has been proposed for efficient data hiding on the edges of an image. We have applied edge detectors in prediction error space to increase the embedding capacity of the stego image which signifies the novelty of this research.•We have adapted the technique of combining the results of multiple edge detectors owing to increase the number of edge pixels, further. We have also made our scheme enable to concealment of a different number of bits in edge and non-edge pixels. Therefore, the proposed scheme increases the embedding capacity.•The proposed scheme maintains the visual quality of stego images.•At the same time, it shows strong resistance against statistical attacks.
