摘要
The performance of geotextiles reinforced soil structures is greatly impacted by the interface behaviour at the soil-geotextiles interface. Two distinct woven and nonwoven coir geotextiles were used in the current study to examine the shear stress versus shear displacement behaviour at clay-geotextile interface and sand- geotextile interface by using the direct shear test. To assess the impact of chemical treatment on the interface shear strength of treated coir geotextile-clay/sand interface, adhesion, and interface friction angle was measured. Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) technique was used to analyze how chemical treatment affects the surface area of coir fiber. A simultaneous thermal analyser was used to conduct differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) analysis on untreated and treated coir geotextiles.
