摘要
•Quasi in-situ EBSD observation is developed for microstructure and damage evolution.•Twinning occurs in α grains with Schmid factors no more than 0.2 for prismatic slip.•A certain degree of maximum stress dwell favors the activation of slip systems.•Plastic strain by maximum stress dwell could restrain brittle microcrack growth.•Subgrain formation in α grains due to twinning and dislocation sliding are observed.
