Evaluation of EHR-Integrated Clinical Pathway Implementation of High Sensitivity Troponin Upon Emergency Department Disposition Rates

High-sensitivity troponin (hsTnT) assays are increasingly being adopted in the ED setting, but little is understood about the impact on downstream testing and hospitalization. Our objective was to examine the effects of a concurrent transition to a hsTnT assay, and adoption of an EHR-integrated clinical pathway, on ED patient outcomes and utilization of testing.
