A Novel Non-Sinusoidal Oscillator and Synchronous Control Model for Steel Continuous Casting Mold

To improve the surface quality of round billet further and realize the waveform function, modification ratio, oscillation frequency and amplitude of non-sinusoidal oscillation adjusted on line, a mechanical oscillator for continuous casting mold driven by a servomotor was proposed. Firstly, the working principle of the oscillator was described. Secondly, the piecewise functions of non-sinusoidal oscillation waveform were given, and the angular speed of servomotor to realize non-sinusoidal oscillation waveform was presented. At last, based on the piecewise function of non-sinusoidal oscillation waveform, the calculation methods of technological parameters were provided, the multi-technological parameter curve was obtained and the synchronous control model among casting speed, oscillation frequency and amplitude was determined. The results are shown that the technological parameters of the non-sinusoidal oscillation are superior to the sinusoidal oscillation, which can shallow oscillation marks and improve the round billet surface quality significantly.
