Abstract
Concrete is the core technology for modern structures, and its quality requirements ar increasing. Monitoring concrete hydration can help engineers to estimate concrete strength and performance, the numerical models need on-field experimental measurements made during the curing process. Concrete temperature monitoring during the curing phase in pseudo-adiabatic conditions gives the possibility to understand the quality of the concrete mixture when it is concluded. The overall concrete quality depends on the mixture of components and environmental conditions during the curing phase, which can last several days. Even if the quasi-adiabatic calorimetry makes it possible to estimate the heat being released during the hydration process with low-cost measurement systems, it is a time-consuming process and requires expert personnel. Internet Of Things paradigm can enhance the usability of this kind of measurement procedure. The use of an IoT-enabled pseudo-adiabatic calorimeter for concrete curing process monitoring offers numerous advantages starting from the cost reduction but also in terms of live monitoring.
