Validation of the Portuguese Version of the Youth Anxiety Measure for DSM-5 (YAM-5-I)

•YAM-5-I is a valid screening tool for assessing anxiety symptomatology in children and adolescents.•YAM-5-I measures symptoms of anxiety disorders according to the latest DSM-5 classification.•Confirmatory Factor Analysis of a four-factor model revealed better fitting to the data than the original model of YAM-5-I.•Good reliability and validity of the four scales, with high McDonald's omega and medium to high correlations with other measures (except for the Selective Mutism Scale).
