Endoscopic Trans-Gastric Stent Placement for the Management of Post-Operative Pancreatic Leak

Background: Pancreatic resections(PR) are associated with significant morbidity and post-operative pancreatic leaks are a significant burden upon patients and healthcare. Patients sometimes require their drains for months or the placement of additional drains which can significantly impact quality of life. We sought to examine outcomes associated with endoscopic placement of axial stents via trans-gastric approach as the management post-operative pancreatic leaks.
