Investigation of the impact of fin number and length attached to an enclosure subjected to a magnetic field

•Solving nonlinear governing equations by finite volume method and SIMPLE algorithm.•An augmentation in the number of fins leads to a reduction in the entropy generation.•Increasing Rayleigh and reducing Hartmann, increases Nusselt number.•Heat transfer augments by boosting the number of fins from two to three.
