Enhanced visible-light photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline antibiotic by 0D/2D TiO2(B)/BiOCl Z-scheme heterojunction: Performance, reaction pathways, and mechanism investigation

摘要
•Z-scheme TiO2(B)/BiOCl heterostructure was synthesized for tetracycline removal.•DFT calculation illustrated the construction of the interfacial electric field and the photocatalytic reaction mechanism.•According to the Fukui index and LC-MS results, three tetracycline degradation pathways were proposed.•The toxicity of degradation intermediates was proved to be greatly reduced compared with that of tetracycline.
