摘要

•A scalable method toward underwater superoleophobic surfaces was developed.•The square micro pit array was obtained on the surface of 304 stainless steel.•The fabricated surface showed good underwater self-cleaning ability for crude oil.•The chemical and mechanical stability, and anti-friction performance were evaluated.
