摘要
Abstract Since the first report of an autologous tissue regeneration technique in 1962, hydrocolloids have been widely used for wound closure. However, complete closure of the wound may result in an infection, which is a major setback. Several dressing types have been unable to circumvent this issue and are not recommended in infected wounds. Wound infection is difficult to determine; in several countries, the wound is often covered with conventional gauze rather than a covering material. The novel ability of irreversible membrane dressings to absorb leachate irreversibly while retaining surface moisture has dramatically improved outcomes in Japan. Our results show that moist wound healing maximizes autologous tissue regeneration, hastens epithelialization, and reduces infection.
