摘要
Academic surgery is popular throughout the world and it is not uncommon for international medical graduates (IMGs) to travel to the United States (US) for both clinical and academic fellowships. It does however appear to be less common for medical graduates from the US to travel to Europe for further training apart from a small number who travel for fellowships in complex subspecialties and for “super” fellowships in internationally renowned centers. This editorial expands on some of the points discussed in a previous article published by The American Journal of Surgery Student and Resident Scholars (AJS STARS) Committee and aims to compare and contrast academic surgical training between the US and the United Kingdon (UK) and Ireland. 1 Torres-Landa S.
