摘要
Nutritional ketosis has been suggested to lower glucose levels and suppress appetite, posing therapeutic potential for people with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Recently developed exogenous ketone supplements present an alternative method to induce ketosis without severe dietary restrictions. The aims of this study were to determine if acute consumption of an exogenous ketone monoester drink influenced perceptions of hunger/fullness, energy intake and energy compensation. In a randomized, placebo-controlled, cross-over study, participants (N=18) with T2D consumed a ketone monoester drink (0.3 g/kg, equating to ∼134 kcal) or placebo (0 kcal).
