Shape-Controlled Preparation of Nano Gold (AU), AU Clusters, and AU Single Atoms Based on Layered Double Hydroxide with Closo-Dodecaborate and Their Utilization for Selective Nitrobenzene Reduction

•LDHs with unique charge dispersion were ingeniously combined with [closo-B12H12]2-.•The interlayer domain limitation of LDH validly restricts the size of Au particles.•Up to 27 AOBs can be efficiently obtained by Au clusters with Au SAs.•10 different AOBs were prepared under Xe-lamp radiation by using Au NPs.•The Au NPs catalytic system can realize gram-level reactions.
