Abstract
Despite a growing interest in adaptive educational technologies in recent years, research findings are rarely integrated into popular mainstream technologies. We believe that a possible explanation is the lack of consideration for engaging domain experts. Based on observations from two multi-year projects aimed at developing adaptive technology for knowledge transfer (one in a business context, the other one in a research context), we present design recommendations for creating authoring tools that are more centered on domain experts.
