Immobilizing enoxacin on implant by polyvinyl butyral coating to promote osseointegration in osteoporosis with infection

A controllable and effective repeated soaking-drying method with the coating of enoxacin (ENX) on pretreated 3D structure PEEK (SPEEK) to obtain SPEEK/PVB-ENX*3 using polyvinyl butyraldehyde (PVB) as medium was designed for the in vitro and in vivo considerable antibacterial ability, osteoclast inhibition and osteogenesis in the treatment of osteoporotic bone defect with infection for bone healing.
