Numerical Simulation of Hydrofoil Cavitation Based on OpenFOAM

With the continuous development of large-scale scientific computing, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation has become an essential tool for solving practical problems. Among the many open-source software in the field of CFD simulation, OpenFOAM plays an important role as a leader. However, due to its generality, the simulation results in some fields are not yet up to the desired effect. In this paper, we analyze and study the difficulties in cavitation simulation, and design and implement a new solver for hydrofoil cavitation simulation supporting linear equation solvers of different modules for hydrofoil cavitation simulation cases, and successfully apply it to the cavitation simulation experiments of NACA0009 hydrofoil. In addition, the parallel computa-tional performance of this solver is also experimentally analyzed, which can provide some reference and help for the research in the field of hydrofoil cavitation simulation.
