26.1 Is That Normal? What Do We Do?

This presentation will review the historical context and beliefs about sexuality in individuals with intellectual developmental disorder (IDD). Participants will gain an understanding of what normal sexual development is for individuals with IDD. I will examine the current education that individuals with IDD receive about sex and maturation as well as the tools that parents and caregivers can use with their adolescents and young adults.
