A Study Of Objectification Of Women's Body And Womb In The Selected Works Of Meera Syal And Judith Henry Wall
JOURNAL OF PHARMACEUTICAL NEGATIVE RESULTS(2022)
摘要
The article will aim to examine Syal's The House of Hidden Mothers and Judith Henry's The Surrogate - by binding the discussion within the framework of objectification of women's body, majorly her womb, through the philosophical theories and the barriers of binary opposition, commodification and reductive technology for reproduction. The paper will also outline the overpowering relation between labour and capitalism through the suppression and suffering of surrogates along with the psychoanalysis of the hegemonized situation of women propelled by patriarchy to the eventual realisation of self-worth, which results in stepping back of surrogacy that has its own problems attached with terms and conditions.
