Abstract
The M@TE (Monitoring at TeV Energies) project consists of the installation of a small Imaging Air Cherenkov Telescope (IACT) at the Observatorio Astronomico Nacional de San Pedro Martir, Mexico, for long-term monitoring of the TeV emission from blazars. M@TE has a similar design to the First G-APD Cherenkov Telescope (FACT), featuring higher photon detection efficiency SiPM sensors and mechanical and electronics upgrades. In this work, simulations are used to assess M@TE's performance. FACT's simulation software was adapted to take into account M@TE's new features. This work presents the simulations as well as results on M@TE's angular resolution and energy reconstruction.
