Prospects of R&D in the biofuel sector/industry

Biofuels have been becoming an emerging technology. Due to the massive increase in the world's population, the energy demand has been increased significantly. Fossil fuels have been depleting, and the most reliable alternative source is biofuel. Biofuels have been developing, and thus, the technology related to them is also in progress. Many countries worldwide are using biofuels as a source of energy production, but it is still in progress in developing countries. Many technologies can meet the energy demand by using fossil fuels. However, to implement these technologies effectively, there is a need for R&D. Recent developments and their implementations have been discussed in this book chapter.
