摘要
CMV infection (CMVI) is a common and potentially serious infection in a kidney transplant recipient (KTR). Its incidence in KTR is around 20-60%. Without prophylaxis, the two most important factors affecting incidence of CMVI in KTR are CMV status of donor and recipient and overall degree of immunosuppression (IS). The incidence of CMV infection in D+/R+ patients vary from 5-30%. In India, > 90% kidney transplant living kidney transplant (LKT) with moderate IS and almost all transplants are D+/R+ combination.
