Abstract

Objectives: PBM (Patient Blood Management) is the application of different strategies to maintain the haemoglobin concentration, optimize coagulation and minimize the blood loss. PBM has demonstrated to improve the outcomes of surgical patients. In 2020 the Spanish guidelines for ERAS (called RICA - Recovery Intensification for optimal Care in Adult’s surgery-) were published with new recommendations that were properly PBM strategies.
